opportunity to come back to the states.
Musicfest held at Bethlehem, PA in August invites the band as one of the headlining foreign acts.
Then they will have their own shows in New York and Chicago after that.
Biography:
GO!GO!7188 formed in 1998 by YUU(vocal/guitarist) and AKKO(vocal/bassist), high school classmates in Kagoshima prefecture. In 1999, they head to Tokyo where meet drummer TURKEY and the band makes its major debut from TOSHIBA EMI in 2000. Ever since they have released 9 full length albums, 12 singles and 3 DVDs.
When they made their debut in the Japanese music scene, they were quoted to be one of the leading girl's punk band which mixes rock'n roll music with Japanese pop.
They have raised their evalution as one of most important Japanese rock bands, making performances in live houses events to Nippon Budokan hall, with songs which is full of originality and high performance ability.
Moreover, "KOINOUTA" which was released in 1999 updates a super-long sales record, and is still downloaded and a popular tune.
In 2002, both Yuu and Akko start working solo and each of them have released two albums.
They have released their 12th single "KINKYORI RENNAI" on 2006, Sept 13th and their 5th album "PARADE" , on 2006 November 18th, from TOSHIBA EMI. "PARADE" hit the forth place on its first appearance on Japanese representive chart magazine[Oricon].
They did "MICHIZURE TOUR" of 22 cities in Japan from Nov. 16th to Jan.27th. They have finished Japan Nite US tour 2007 and played at Knitting Factory in NY, Empty Bottle in Chicago, Knitting Factory in LA, the Independent in SF and The Elysium (SXSW) in Austin as a head liner. It was a great and success US debut. Their new singe (the 13th) "MANATSU NO DANCE HALL" is releasing on June 28th from BMG JAPAN.
